Always trust your inner rat

In the independent, feature length, animated social satire CAFE 8 BALL, the only sane mind in the cafe appears to belong to a talking pet rat.

What the heck is the rat?

Welcome to CAFÉ 8 BALL

Twenty-something Nick, a cartoonist, has just started working at his aunt’s café in downtown Santa Fe after a head injury in New York. Since the accident, Nick’s pet rat has been giving his confused owner advice on life, love, and a secret conspiracy that’s bubbling under the surface of Santa Fe. As Nick sketches the crazy characters who wile away the hours at CAFE 8 BALL, outrageous secrets lie under the desert sun. Nick learns that no one is as they appear and that, imaginary or not, his rat seems to know exactly how to separate friend from foe. As disaster looms, Nick wonders if the city, the world, and his sanity can be saved.

Inside the Cafe

In this darkly funny feature-length animated social satire, anyone who passes through CAFE 8 BALL can count on being drawn into a web of life and death situations, mistaken identity, and soul searching over a cup of Joe. It turns out that Santa Fe is full of secrets—and people all too willing to tell them.
