Welcome to CAFÉ 8 BALL

Nick, a cartoonist, has just started a job at his aunt’s café in downtown Santa Fe after a head injury in New York. After the accident, Nick’s pet Rat spoke to him and hasn’t shut up since. Rat offers his confused owner advice on life, love, and a secret conspiracy that’s bubbling under the surface of Santa Fe.

CAFE 8 BALL will be New Mexico’s very first feature-length animated film and will showcase our talented animators and film community. The film combines state-of-the-art 3-D animation with 2-D animation to create the surreal world inside the cafe filled with demanding customers, shady Federal agents, passionate lovers, and a grab bag of Santa Fe locals to add injury to Nick’s delicate brain.

CAFE 8 BALL provides a visual delight for audiences as each of the film's 8 chapters is brought to life by a different director of animation with a distinctive style and very warped sense of humor.

It turns out that Santa Fe is sitting on a ticking time bomb, full of dark secrets—and people all too willing to tell them.
