From disneyland to cafe 8 ball
DOMINIC CAPPELLO (DIRECTOR, WRITER): Dominic started cartooning at age ten and worked in Disneyland’s character department-- observing humanity through the masks of Captain Hook, Goofy, and Big Bad Wolf. His first cartoon series CAFÉ 8 BALL was published in Seattle’s The Stranger. The year long series illustrated cafe life “behind the 8 ball” in the late '90s. Turning his attention to writing books and directing in NYC, Dominic's first film was a 2005 sci-fi social satire called NOT BRAIN SURGERY. He moved to Santa Fe in 2006 to set up STUDIOLO on Canyon Road, where he works as a writer, artist, filmmaker and instructional designer.
Always trust your inner rat
In the independent, feature length, animated social satire CAFE 8 BALL, the only sane mind in the cafe appears to belong to a talking pet rat.
A Special Showcase
"CAFE 8 BALL represents independent filmmaking at its best--showcasing
New Mexico’s artists who are passionate about their craft and serving up a social satire to engage, delight, shake things up, and sell tons of popcorn. "
- Dominic Cappello, Director of CAFE 8 BALL

EDGARD RIVERA & ANDREW CLICK (SOUND DESIGNERS & COMPOSERS): MAUREEN BURDOCK (CHAPTER/SEGMENT DIRECTOR): Maureen Burdock is an award-winning artist whose work has been shown internationally.
